My mother tricked me into becoming a writer. When I was 18, she told me to write one sentence a day for a month. I found out, you can't stop at one sentence. By the end of the month, I was a writer. The word in the writer's world is "20 minutes a day is all we ask." I tell my students, even 5 minutes a day will add up to a book.
Then my famous grandmother, who taught public speaking to Eleanor Roosevelt, tricked me into becoming a professional speaker by getting me on the speech team in college and then the debate team.
Since Covid hit, I have been speaking 1-2 times a week for past 3 years!
